ATHOL - With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Pauline Yvonne Mallet, a dedicated mother and longtime resident of Athol, Massachusetts. Born on May 17, 1921, in St. Guillaume, Quebec, Pauline lived a life steeped in love, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her community. Her journey came to a peaceful end on July 24, 2023, at Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol.

Pauline's life was characterized by her loving nature and a unique blend of strength and grace. In her professional life as a secretary for her husband's real estate company, Pauline demonstrated an exemplary work ethic. Her dedication to her family was paralleled only by her devotion to her faith and community. An active member of Our Lady Immaculate Church and the Daughters of Isabella, Pauline's faith was an enduring source of strength.

Always full of life, Pauline's vitality was infectious. Her love for walking and physical fitness was an embodiment of her belief in leading a balanced life. Her love of style and fashion was always apparent. She was a proud member of the Athol YMCA for over 40 years, spending time with close friends in the Silver Sneakers program. She also had great skill for cooking. Desserts and cookies of all kinds were a real specialty.

She will forever be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother and a steadfast friend.  Pauline is survived by her four sons, J. Andre Mallet and his wife Joy Dallessandro of Auburn, James F. Mallet and his wife Jennifer Southgate of Hadley, Charles E. Mallet and his wife Karen of Athol, Paul A. Mallet and his wife Lauri of Yarmouthport, MA; one brother, Pete Trudel of Gardner; three grandchildren, Bryon Mallet, Blake Mallet, Mitchell Mallet; two great-grandchildren, Audrey Mallet, Lucas Mallet; and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Theogene and Louise (Lariviere) Trudel, by her husband, J. Altenor Mallet; and by four brothers, Fernand Trudel, Ronald Trudel, Maurice Trudel, and Gene Trudel.
