Pauline Marie Montville, 87, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed over peacefully on December 3, 2024.
Born on April 18, 1937, in Gardner, Massachusetts, she was a resident of East Templeton, MA, for over 65 years.
Pauline loved gardening, and she took enormous pride in the beautiful flowers and vegetables she lovingly raised. She was always pleased to share her garden’s harvest.
Pauline was passionate about reading. When the weather was good, you could find her enjoying the sun on her front porch while immersed in her latest book.
She also had a passion for painting. From the most delicate details to her extraordinary sense of color, when it came to painting, Pauline was masterful.
Her extensive experience as a furniture decorator likely shaped her painting skills. Pauline worked for 25 years at Colonial Craft in East Templeton, MA, where she was also a supervisor, and at S. Bents in Gardner, MA, for about 16 years.
Along with Pauline’s enthusiasm for reading and painting, she cherished her dear cats. And with her big heart, she often took care of strays in the neighborhood. As a huge football fan, Pauline never missed a New England Patriots game.
She attended schools in Gardner, MA, and was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church, East Templeton, MA, for some 60 years.
Pauline leaves behind a son, Mark Montville, and his wife, Cathy, from Baldwinville; a daughter-in-law, Lydia Montville, from Gardner; two granddaughters, Vicky Langlois and her husband, Jeff, from Florida, and Beverly Montville and her partner, Jeff, from Gardner; and two great-grandchildren, Arianna Montville and Owen Montville.
Her parents, Henry P. and Almanda Ducharme; three sisters, Doris Ducharme, Loretta Roche, and Claire Rocheleau; her husband, Wilfred Montville, Jr.; a son, Michael Montville; and an infant daughter, Barbara Ann, predeceased her.
The graveside service for Pauline will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in Gardner, MA, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to consider supporting Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue.
