Pauline M. (Provencher) Souther

Shirley- Pauline M. (Provencher) Souther, 89, of Shirley, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday March 20, 2014 in the Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer. She was born on February 17, 1925, the daughter of the late George Provencher and the late Anna (Martel) Provencher. Pauline worked for the Meade Corp, En-Tech, Sampson Ocean Systems, and the former Eussey Press before retiring as a housewife. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and oil painting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and loved the company of her dog “Peteou”. Pauline leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Robert Souther of Shirley, three sons; Ronald McGuiness of Rhode Island, Robert Souther, Jr of Leominster, and Brian Souther of Shirley, two daughters; Sandra Souther of Arizona, and Roxanne Souther of Winchendon, her granddaughter Marcy  Lynn Silva of Winchendon, and several other grandchildren and great- grandchildren. At Pauline’s request, a memorial service will be held on Friday March 28, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Massachusetts Memorial Veterans Cemetery 111 Glen Allen St, Winchendon. All those who plan on attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations in Pauline’s name be made to the: American Heart Association New England Affiliate 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
