Pearl S. Evans

GARDNER - Pearl S. (Martioski) Evans, 72 of 116 Church St., Gardner formerly of Westminster, died Sunday, December 10, 2006, in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner. She was born in Gardner, on November 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Lillian (Colon) Martioski. She grew up in Gardner and was educated in Gardner. Mrs. Evans was employed at the former J.J. Newburys Depatment Store, the former Rich´s Department Store and more recently at Ocean Sate Job Lot. She leaves one daughter, Donna Lee Hart and her husband Dale of Gardner; eight sisters, Ann Nex of Rindge, NH, Kathleen Cormier of Gardner, Lillian Newton of Troy, NH, Beverly Racine of Fitchburg, Rosemary Uppgard of Gardner, Theresa Shappell of Dubuque, Iowa, Deborah Hart of Plattsburgh, NY, Pamela Martioski of Gardner; three brothers, Robert Martioski of Otter River, Kenneth Martioski of Gardner and Daniel Martioski of Leominster; six grandchildren, Adam, Ashley, Brandon, Nathan, Tim and Steven and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Herbert W. Evans who died December 8, 1994. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 14, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2006, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9:00 PM at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA.
