Peter J. Bailey

LEOMINSTER- Peter J. Bailey, 86, of Leominster, died Saturday, June 14, in Life Care Center, after an illness.  He was born December 21, 1927, in Cambridge, son of the late Harry and Selena (Cunningham) Bailey. Mr. Bailey served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in WWII and attaining the rank of Corporal. He worked as an electronics technician for E, G & G in Burlington until his retirement.  Mr. Bailey was a family man, enjoying many family gatherings, dinners, and camping together. He was a baseball fan, especially the Cardinals.  He leaves his wife, Loretta E. (Phelan) Bailey, with whom he would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August; two sons, Stephen "Rusty" Bailey and his wife, Claire, of Pelham, NH, and Mark Bailey and his fiance, Zondra Downey, of CA; two daughters, Lorraine Taurisano and her husband, Anthony, of Maynard, and Carol Bailey of Somerville; nine grandchildren, Michelle Melino and her husband, John, David Bailey and his wife, Andrea, Crystal Bailey, Katlyn Lima and her husband, Joshua, Bryan Horsewood, Christopher Horsewood, Jeannie Bailey, Crystal Bailey, Rob Barbaro and his wife, Kristina; five great grandchildren; one sister, Anna O'Connor of Somerville; one daughter in law, Linda Bailey of Exeter, NH, wife of the late Paul Bailey; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bailey was predeceased by his son, Paul Bailey in 1995. The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 18, from Simard Funeral Home,14 Walker St., Leominster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M.in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the funeral, Wednesday, June 18, from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home.
