Peter A Grucan

GARDNER - Peter A. Grucan, 82 of 245 Baker St., Gardner, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner. He was born in Templeton, on April 17, 1926, the son of the late John M and the late Rose (Dlugenska) Grucan Sr. He grew up in Baldwinville and attended schools Baldwinville schools. He served in WWII in the US Army from 1945 to 1946. He worked at the former E. L. Thompson Chair and Temple Stuart Companies in Baldwinville. Mr. Grucan was a member of the Baldwinville American Legion Post #393. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish where he served as an usher for over 23 years. He enjoyed ice fishing and attending sporting events. He especially enjoyed the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and going to the casino. He leaves two sisters: Florence Stone of Athol, Frances Grucan of Gardner; three brothers: Raymond Grucan of Baldwinville, his twin Paul Grucan of Gardner, Stanley Grucan of Gardner; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers: John M Grucan Jr. and Chester Poploski and three sisters: Jeanette Arsenault, Anna Bibeau and Helen Trinque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 am in St. Vincent De Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. No calling hours are scheduled.
