Philip J. Goguen, born on March 14, 1931 in New Brunswick, Canada, passed away on June 24, 2024, in his beloved home of Gardner, Massachusetts. Philip, a talented and dependable soul, was known for his unwavering reliability and dedication, both to his work and to his family. His creative spirit was evident in his love for puzzles and the joy he found in fixing things, a testament to his years serving in the maintenance department of a manufacturing firm. He was a loyal member of the French American Victory Club in Waltham, MA, and held his faith close, attending Mass weekly.
Philip was a man of many places, having resided in various parts of Canada and the United States, from Goose Bay Labrador to Bridgeport, CT, and Sudbury, Ontario to Waltham, MA. But no matter where he lived, Philip was a dedicated family man. He found his greatest happiness in the company of his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren. He was a man whose actions reflected the verse from Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." His love for cars and trucks was not just a hobby, but another bond he shared with his loved ones.
Philip is survived by his son Peter, daughter-in-law, Celeste, son Mark, brother Lionel, sister-in-law Dorine, sister Aline, brother-in-law Ulysse, and his cherished grandchildren Chanelle and Brody. His legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, his parents Levi and Pricille, and siblings Yvon, Leandre, Aurele, Henry, Carmeline, Louise, and Florence.
Philip was a beacon of resilience, a pillar of strength, and a reservoir of love. His memory will be cherished, his life celebrated, and his impact on those around him will forever be felt. We invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Philip on the memorial page at www.mackfamilyfh.com. His life was a testament to dedication, reliability, and creativity. Let us remember Philip not with sorrow but with the joy and love he brought to us all. We encourage you to celebrate his life by sharing your memories and photographs, as a tribute to a man who touched so many lives in such a beautiful way.
