ATHOL- Phyllis (Feliksa)(Wagner)(Jacobson) Jamsa passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 in the Highview Nursing Home, Leeds, MA.
Phyllis was born in Kvaska village, near the city of Lomza, Poland to the late Bronislaw and Gladyslawa (Rasrow) on December 1, 1921.
She was a 1940 graduate of Gardner High School in Gardner, MA and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health from Fitchburg State. She worked in a group home until her retirement in 2003.
Phyllis had previously worked in several businesses in Gardner, MA including Gem Crib, Simplex, and Florence Stove Company, where she was Executive Secretary to the Purchasing Agent. She and her husband, William Jamsa later operated Skyline Farm and Hatchery in Westminster for a number of years. Phyllis was also a licensed Yoga Instructor, ski enthusiast, and physical fitness devotee throughout her entire life. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Gardner Lodge. She enjoyed the Athol and Orange Senior Centers, where she made many friends later in life.
Phyllis leaves her brother, Anthony E. Wagner and his wife Janice (Peckham) Wagner of Phillipston; a niece Johanna Adams and her husband Kenneth; nephews: Stephen Wagner and his wife Jacqueline, Alan M. Wagner and his wife Barbara, Craig Wagner and his wife Doreen, Kevin Wagner and Eric Wagner and his wife Enola; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Michael Wagner of Gardner, MA and Palm Bay, FL. and a nephew, Anthony E. Wagner II.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 9:30-10:30AM in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home 110 New Athol Rd. Orange, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11AM in Our Lady Immaculate Church 192 School St. Athol, MA
Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Gardner, MA.
