Prudence C. (Smith) Blair

Prudence C. Blair Athol – Prudence C. (Smith) Blair, 71, of 821 Daniels Shays Highway, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Athol Hospital.      Prudence was born in New York City, July 12, 1942, the daughter of Maurice and Cara (Davis) Smith.  She grew up and attended schools in Hopewell, NJ, graduating from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA in 1964.  She had lived in several areas of the U.S. during her life and since 2009 has resided in Athol.        She worked as a Fotomat sales representative for several years.  Prudence enjoyed photography all of her life, winning several awards for her work which was published.  Her Catholic faith has always been a very important part of her life, referring to herself as a traditional Roman Catholic and has followed the Latin Mass.  Besides her photography she especially enjoyed her children, always being a part of their lives.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.      She leaves her husband of 48 years, Donald R. Blair; a son, Douglas L. Blair and his wife Christine of Athol; a daughter, Mary Brady of Durham, CT and four grandchildren, Jason, Sam, Michael and Sarah.      Funeral services will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at noon at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, with the Rev. Fr. Krzysztof Korcz, pastor officiating.  Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
