Gardner-Rachel A. (Gingras) Landry, 92, died Thursday, May 25, 2023, at her home after an illness.
Rachel leaves her husband of 66 years, Edmund (Gus) J. Landry, they were married in 1957; and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by two brothers, Cleo Gingras, and Edmond Gingras, and one sister, Antoinette Czehatowski.
She was born in Gardner on March 14, 1931, a daughter of the late Edgar and Laura (Perreault) Gingras. She grew up in Gardner and was a 1949 Gardner, High School graduate.
She was a secretary for George Bent Co. for 10 years and for O'Hearn Furniture Co., retiring in 1982 She was a Holy Rosary Church and AARP member. She loved her home, flowers, gardening, and all animals, many of whom she adopted. She also loved to cook, bake, and trying new recipes with her husband.
Rachel loved to travel, she and Gus drove cross-country twice, went to Hawaii twice, and drove through the countries in the Alps, including Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria, and Lichtenstein. Not to mention the many trips to Florida, where they enjoyed fishing with her niece Ann and her husband Butch
Her funeral will be held in the Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440 on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 11:30 am.
Burial will be at a later date in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner, MA
A calling hour will be from 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to the funeral.
