LEOMINSTER - Raymond F. Bilotta, 87, of Leominster, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in the Leominster Hospital after a long period of failing health. Raymond was born in Leominster on February 8, 1921, the son of Francesco and Mary (Scalzo) Bilotta. He grew up and was educated in Leominster. Raymond was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army Corp of Engineers in Alaska and with the Military Police at Fort Devens. Raymond was an avid golfer and fisherman. He will be remembered as a boy scout master and Leominster Little League Coach. He was employed at the City of Leominster Highway Department for fifteen years. He previously worked at Frye's Dairy. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and enjoyed golfing with the Leominster Golf League. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Jeannette (Dufresne) Bilotta; by two sons, Frank Bilotta and his wife Elaine of Westminster, James Bilotta and his wife Diane of Grantham, NH; one daughter, Cynthia White and her husband William of Holderness, NH; seven grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Bilotta of Leominster and one sister, Dolores Lucier of Leominster. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 9, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to St. Cecilia's Church - Restoration Fund 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453.
