ASHBURNHAM - Raymond E Bryant PhD, 85 peacefully passed away at home, March 15, 2021. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Patricia Krzywicki-Bryant. He was born in Vidor Texas on July 5, 1935 the son of the late Edward Bryant and Florence (Letney) Bryant.
He enlisted in the US Army in 1955 and served honorably during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Fitchburg State College, Class of 1962, earned A Master’s degree from California State University in 1969, and went onto earn his PhD from the University of Connecticut in 1982.
Raymond enjoyed a successful career at Fitchburg State as a college professor, staff psychologist, and Director of Placement and Career Planning. Raymond maintained a thriving private Psychology practice in Fitchburg for 30 years. As an avid fly fisherman, outdoorsman, craftsman and designer, he made the most of his leisure time pursuing the hobbies he loved. Ray had a passion for travel and for people.
Besides his wife he leaves four children: Cheryl Bingham and her husband Mark, Kristin Stockwell and her husband Rob; Steve Bryant and his wife Natalie; and Cary Bryant; grandchildren: Jeanine Bryant, Lauren Bryant, Sophie Stockwell, Henry Stockwell, Thomas Bryant, Cole Bingham, and Calvin Bingham. Ray also leaves behind his dearest close friend Bob Blain; loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Denis Church, 85 Main Street Ashburnham MA. 01430 Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery 111 Glenallen Street Winchendon.
A calling hour will be held from 9:30-10:30am at the funeral home Monday prior to the service.
