Rena C. Doucette

GARDNER - Rena C. (Sbrocca) Doucette, 85 of 101 Sand Street, Gardner, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in the Kindred Healthcare, Leicester. She was born in Winchendon, on May 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Alfredo and the late Josephine (Annibalini) Sbrocca. Rena grew up in Winchendon and graduated from Murdock High School with the class of 1945 and went on to graduate from the Cadet Nursing School at Henry Heywood Hospital in 1948. Mrs. Doucette was a dedicated nurse at Heywood Hospital for over 30 years, she retired in 1988. Rena was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church.  She enjoyed playing cards, quilting and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She leaves her husband of 61 years, Albert A. Doucette; two daughters, Cynthia M. Lull and her husband Thomas of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Rebecca D. Perry and her husband Ric of Gardner; one son, Andrew A. Doucette of Gardner; two granddaughters, Rene` Perry of Gardner; Nikki Perry of Gardner; four step grandchildren, Timothy Lull of Ipswich, Heather Lull of Amesbury, Kelsey Maglin of Gardner, Christopher Lull of Newberry, MA; a sister in-law, Tillie Sbrocca of California and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Dino Sbrocca and Navio Sbrocca, and by her sister, Eola Sbrocca A Mass of Christian Burial for Rena and her sister, Eola Sbrocca who died May 10, 2012, will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 9:30 am in Our Lady Of The Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.  Burial for Rena will follow in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.  Burial for Eola will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Beacon Hospice 36 William St., Leominster, MA 01453.
