LEOMINSTER- Renée Marie (Cormier) Browne, 38, of Roslindale, formerly of Leominster, passed suddenly into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, September 29, 2018.
Renée was born January 6, 1980, in Worcester, MA. She was the daughter of Raymond and Nancy (Spadafore) Cormier. Renée attended St. Leo’s Elementary School and was a 1998 graduate of St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School. She earned her undergraduate degree from UMass Boston and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Tufts University’s Museum of Fine Arts School. She received a special recognition award from the UMass Boston school of Art for her unique artistic talent, reflected in the “Reborn in Blue” exhibition that was displayed at the university.
Renée was employed at Harvard University’s Financial Aid office and prior to that was employed at the Museum of Fine Arts - UMass Boston, and the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed working at Fenway Park as a security guard. She was truly a fan and enjoyed all Boston sports.
Renée was a gifted artist whose passions were with the arts and music. Her interests took her traveling abroad for art and also included being a videographer for the Boston Ballet. She loved Boston and enjoyed bicycling in the city gardens. She could often be found reading, painting, playing piano, and had a passion for photography. She loved animals, especially her two cats Ziggy and Cosmo, spending time with children, especially her niece and nephew and her friends’ children were very important to her.
Besides her parents, she leaves her brother, Thomas Cormier, his wife Tanya and their two children, Kairi and Alphonse of Leominster; maternal grandmother, Anita Spadafore of Leominster; paternal grandfather, Desire Cormier of Ashby; aunts and uncles, Louis and Janis Cormier of FL, Denise Lavoie of Westminster, Norma Francis and her husband, Keith of Milford, NH, Lucie Chisholm of Greenland, NH, Lorraine Ruta, with whom she shared a special relationship, and her husband, Thom of Northampton, Gerry Cormier and his wife, Karen, John Cormier and his wife, Donna, all of Ashby; many cousins, extended family in Texas and Worcester, MA , and special close friends in Leominster, North Carolina, the Boston area and surrounding towns.
Renée was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Marie (Albert) Cormier, and maternal grandfather, Frank Spadafore.
Calling hours are Saturday, October 6, from 9:30-11:30 A.M. at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. The funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 Noon at St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St. Leominster, MA. Burial will be private.
