Richard J. Constantine Athol – Richard J. Constantine, 60, of 141 Pinedale Road, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, following a long illness.      Richard was born in Gardner October 14, 1951, the son of Robert and Ruth (Austin) Constantine.  He lived in Fitchburg and Lunenburg most of his life, graduating from Fitchburg High School and since 2001 has resided in Athol.      He served in the U.S. Marines during the Viet Nam War.  Richard owned and operated a towing and repair shop in Lunenburg for many years and was a police officer in Fitchburg and Lunenburg for several years.     He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles, cars, all types of mechanic work, was an avid sports fan, especially football, enjoyed playing scratch tickets and was a collector and bargain hunter and known as a wheeler dealer.      He leaves his longtime companion, Lorna; two sons, Craig and Ricky both of Athol; his father, Robert Constantine and his wife Shirley and a brother Chris Constantine , both of Fitchburg; a step-daughter, Mandy and Lorna’s children, Michael, Lisa and Stephen Sullivan. He also leaves two grandchildren, Josiah and Parker Constantine.  He was predeceased by two children, Brian and Cheryl, his mother Ruth, his step-mother, Jeannette, and two sisters, Christine and Lorraine.      A memorial service will be held Saturday May 26th at 11:00 A.M. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Randazzo, pastor of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church officiating.  A private burial will be at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg at a later date.  Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol is directing arrangements.
