Richard J. Flanagan,85, formerly of Gardner, died Sunday, January 15, 2023 at in Barre, MA.
He was born in Gardner on November 7, 1937, a son of the late Edward Flanagan and Mary (Osborn) Flanagan.
Richard grew up in Gardner and was educated in Gardner. He worked at Beech Hill and GAAMA. He was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the church choir. He enjoyed reading, singing, and western music and traveled extensively with his mother.
He leaves one sister, Marcia Flanagan of Royalston; one niece, Amanda Basso, and her husband Tony of Swanzey, NH, and their children Ivy and Connor; an aunt, Ann Talbot of Westminster and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother Craig Flanagan.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11 am in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Monday, January 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Richard's memory be made to GAAMA 208 Coleman St., Gardner, MA 01440.
