Richard Joseph Ingalls, 71, of 114 Cumberland Road, Leominster, MA, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at home after an illness. He was born February 7, 1936 in Leominster, the son of the late Wendall Ingalls and Loretta (Dufresne) Ingalls and was a lifelong resident of Leominster. Mr. Ingalls was a member of St. Anna's Church in Leominster. He worked as a machinist for 35 years at area machine shops, then was a driver for the Fallon Clinic. He was an avid NASCAR and New England Patriots fan, he also enjoyed drawing and was considered a wonderful artist. Mr. Ingalls served in the United States Navy. He entered the service on August 5, 1958 and was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on April 12, 1960. He leaves two daughters: Loretta M. Ingalls and her long time companion Todd Crawford of Leominster, and Katherine M. Farwell of Lunenburg; two brothers: James Ingalls and his wife Severina of Leominster, and Ronald Ingalls and his wife Sheila of Ashland, MA; also one sister: Jean Cote and husband Robert of Leominster. He also leaves three grandchildren: Jeffrey R. Ingalls and his wife Nataly, Kayla Farwell, and Zachary Farwell, all of Leominster; one great grandson: Brian Ingalls of Leominster; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of over 40 years, Victorina (Novelli) Ingalls, on July 3, 2002, and a brother, Johnny Ingalls. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
