Rita M. O'Brien

GARDNER - Rita M. (Cadieux) O'Brien, 94 of Gardner, died Friday, September 20, 2019 in the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner. She was born in Fitchburg, on January 18, 1925, the daughter of the late Alfred and the late Bertha (LaBonte) Cadieux. Rita was a former member of Sacred Heart Church. She lived in Baldwinville for many years before moving to Gardner. While in Baldwinville she was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church. She was an avid reader and a member of the same book club since she was 18. Rita enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends. She leaves her daughter, Virginia E. Robichaud of Gardner; her daughter in-law, Kathleen O'Brien of Gardner; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward E. O'Brien; by two sons, Edward E. O'Brien, Jr., Michael O'Brien; by four brothers Richard Cadieux, William Cadieux, Edmund Cadieux, Alfred Cadieux, Jr.; and by one sister, Jeannette Cadieux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 11:00 am in the St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. at the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
