GARDNER - Robert Remington Brown, age 85, formerly of Westminster and Athol, passed away on November 24, 2011 at Wachusett Manor in Gardner, MA from dementia.
Robert was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on March 6, 1926. He graduated from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham and served in the US Navy. He was an award winning salesman for many years and worked at Worcester State Hospital just before his retirement. Robert was a well respected owner and breeder of bird hunting dogs; he loved hunting and fishing and especially his dogs. He also loved taking care of his home and yard.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia Jane Brown of Westminster and Lisa Hope Brown of Gardner. He leaves eight grandchildren; Joshua, Ethan, Ely, Abbey, Lisa, Hazel, Dane and Codi and one great grandchild, Dylan. Also still surviving is his sister Ruth St. Germaine of Athol.
Robert is predeceased by his brother Hank of Newton and sister Hope Paradise of Ashburnham. He had a son Kenneth Edwin Brown who passed away in 1975. They shared the same nickname, Brownie.
There will be a private service at the family’s convenience in Westminster to celebrate Bob’s life.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in his memory to MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
