ASHBURNHAM - Robert "Bob" C. Brennan, Sr., 77, of 16 Lawrence Street, Ashburnham, passed away on April 21, 2010 surrounded by his family at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester.
He was born on July 6, 1932 in Ashburnham, the son of William Brennan and Eda (Stafford) Brennan-Lashua.
He is survived by his son, Robert Brennan, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Ashburnham. He is also leaves two daughters, Barbara "Pixie" Brennan and Susan Brennan of Ashburnham.
Robert was a loving and devoted grandfather of four granddaughters, six grandsons, nine great granddaughters and six great grandsons. He also leaves three sisters, Bertha Landry of Ashburnham, Janice Harling of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and Thelma Finn of Mesa, Arizona; one brother, George "JoJo" Brennan of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, along with nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Jacquelyne (Heywood) Brennan, by two sisters, Barbara Poitras and Rita Bacon, and by three brothers, William, Paul and Leonard Brennan.
Robert served in the Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in the Marshall Islands during the nuclear testing on Eniwetok Atoll. Following his discharge from the service, he worked at Howard Johnson's Restaurant for numerous years. He was also employed with the Ethan Allen Furniture Co. at their Ashburnham plant until the facility was closed. Robert was best known as the owner of Hillcrafters in Ashburnham as an artisan of Oval Shaker Boxes for 30 years.
Private funeral services will he held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
