Robert L. Fisette

Robert L. Fisette Athol – Robert L. Fisette, 95, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in his lifelong hometown of Athol.      He was born in Athol on December 24, 1919, the son of Louis and Helen (Hack) Fisette.  He was the step-son of Ida (Sisson) Fisette.  Robert was a graduate of Athol High School, Becker College and 2nd Douglas Air Base Flying School.  He served in World War II as a B-17 pilot in the Air Force, 401st Bomb Group, 614th Squadron.      He married Anne M. Sullivan on April 11, 1955 and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage together.      He worked in the family business, Fisette’s Clothing in Athol, at Standard Pyroxoloid Corp. in Fitchburg, and at Hyland/Rice in Fitchburg, where he was office manager.  When he retired, he took cooking classes at Monty Tech, and studied Italian at UMass, Amherst.      Robert was a lover of classical and opera music.  Many of his summer Sunday afternoons were spent at Tanglewood in Lenox.  He was a parish organist at Our Lady Immaculate and St. Francis churches for many years.      He leaves his daughter, Catherine, his son Mark; a grandson Thomas; sister-in-laws, Sheila Cookson and Mary St.Yves and her husband Robert and nieces and nephews.      He was predeceased by his wife, a sister Rita Fisette Atkinson and brother-in-laws, Robert Atkinson and Frank Cookson.      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Edwin Montana, pastor officiating.
