Robert A. Kibort
East Templeton – Robert A. “Bobby†Kibort, 65, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
Bob was born in Fitchburg, MA on January 5, 1948, the son of Anthony Arthur and Irene
(Basque) Kibort, Sr. He grew up in Fitchburg where he lived for many years, graduating from Fitchburg High School in 1966 and for the past 35 years has resided in East Templeton.
Bob worked for Digital for many years, for Great West Life Insurance Company and for County Line Lumber in Athol, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Eagles in Gardner where he was an officer for over 26 years, member of the Athol-Orange Lodge of Elks #1837 where he served as secretary for the past five years. Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, feeding the birds and Chipmunks at Peaceful Pines Campground was an avid cribbage player and loved to DJ events and line dance.
He leaves a son Marc Kibort and his wife Shannon Ouellette and their daughter Eden of Gardner, a daughter Melissa Bois and her husband Leo of Panama City, FL, his significant other Janet Mann and her children Thomas S. Mann IV and his wife Theresa and their children McKenzie and Jessica of Athol, Eric Mann of Orlando, FL and Casey Mann of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He also leaves a sister Marion Kibort and his aunt Lorraine Basque, both of Fitchburg and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony “Butch†Kibort.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol with Pastor Thomas Morin of the Redemption Rock Church in Westminster officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with an Elk’s service at 7:00p.m. A gathering will follow the burial at Peaceful Pines Campground recreation hall, route 2A in Templeton. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Bob’s name be made to the Athol-Orange Elks Scholarship Fund, 92 New Athol Road, Orange, MA 01364 or the Athol Area United Way, 545 Main Street, Athol, MA 01331.
