ATHOL- Robert J.E. Labrecque, 84, of Athol passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at home, with Art and Lisa by his side. Robert was born in Lowell on October 28, 1936, son of the late Ernest and Marie (Roberts) Labrecque.
He grew up in Lowell and graduated from St. Joseph High School and Lowell Tech. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the Destroyer, USS McGowan.
He worked for the Athol Fire Department for over 30 years and retired as the fire inspector. He was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church, the Elks Club, the American Legion, the VFW and the DAV. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Debra DeCambra and her husband Dave; his son, Arthur “Art” Labrecque and his fiancée Lisa; his daughter Patricia Williams and her husband Jeff; step-daughter, Amie Tarantola and her husband Chuck; step-son, Ricky Desreuisseau and his wife Shenikah; sister in law, Gail Labrecque and her two sons, David and Dennis, and Rosie’s son, Dale Boyett; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Joyce E. (Ellsworth) Labrecque; his sister, Rose Marie and his brother, Ernest; his granddaughter, Lauren; and two stepsons, Mike and Brian.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street, Athol. Burial to follow at Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
