Robert Joseph Marcoux

Robert J. Marcoux, 85, of Leominster, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at The Highlands in Fitchburg.  Robert was born April 14, 1929 in Canada. He is the son of the late Joseph A. and the late Antoinette F. (Desrosiers) Marcoux. Robert attended school in Leominster. He served in the Navy from July 16, 1946 to February 23, 1950. He earned the Victory Medal: American Area.  He was employed as a tool & die maker for many different companies.  He later retired from Bee Plastics. He enjoyed gardening and wood working. He is survived by his wife, Annie (Peytour) Marcoux ; he is also survived by his six children, Marie Sandra Marcoux of Fitchburg, Robert J. Marcoux, Jr. of Athol, Arthur R. Marcoux of Leominster, Margaret S. Rychwa of Green Valley, AZ, Russell S. Marcoux of Leominster, and James R. Marcoux of Hubbardston; three step children, Marie C. Benedetti of Leominster, Francoise Price of St. Charles, IL, Daniel Gray of Triangle, VA; one sister, Marie B. Marcoux of Fitchburg, four brothers, Roland Marcoux of Leominster, Albert Marcoux of Leominster, Adelard Marcoux of Fitchburg, Joseph Marcoux of Leominster; his former wife, Madeleine Marcoux of Leominster, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The calling hour will be held Monday, September 29, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. with the funeral following at 10:00 A.M. in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial with Military Honors, will follow in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon.
