It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Polchlopek who passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
Robert was born on May 18, 1958 in Gardner the son of the late John and Geneva (Rimsa) Polchlopek. A dedicated and reliable man whose intelligence was only surpassed by his kindness, Robert has left an indelible legacy of love, friendship, and respect. He was a person who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as hunting and fishing, and whose laughter and camaraderie were as infectious as they were memorable.
Robert was a person who valued community and camaraderie above all else. His membership in the Gardner Fish & Game, PACC, the Ridgely Club, and the North Worcester County Quabbin Anglers Association, was a testament to his love for outdoor activities and his commitment to his community. A smart individual, Robert graduated with honors from Gardner High School, and later made his mark at the L.S. Starrett Tool Company in Athol where he worked for many years, bringing his unique blend of dedication and reliability to his work.
Robert is survived by his sister Janice Polchlopek, brother, Michael Polchlopek and his wife Mary, sister, Ann Balogh and her partner Susan Mearkle, sister, Theresa Matthews and several nieces and nephews. His absence will be deeply felt by his family and all who knew him.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00am at Mack Family Funeral Home located at 105 Central Street, Gardner, Massachusetts, 01440. A visitation will precede the service from 10 -11 am. Burial will be private at a later date.
