ERVING- Robert F. Pollock. JR, 48, of Erving, and a lifelong local resident of Athol, died Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015 after a sudden illness.
He was born May 4, 1967, son of Donna L. Cook and lived in the area all his life. He served eight years in the United States Army, leaving at the rank of Sargent E5 and served honorably during the Gulf War. Robert was highly educated, receiving a Culinary degree and Master’s in Education with recognition in Summa Cum Laude from Fitchburg State University. Robert was a phenomenal teacher and mentor, inspiring hundreds of young minds both in Shirley and Fitchburg public schools. Robert was passionate about many things including his family, friends, teaching, and his dog, Sadie. He loved holidays and all that came with the celebrations, leaving traditions behind to the next generation was priority in his day to day life. He was a very caring and loving man who wasn’t afraid to show it. He had an extensive vocabulary, infectious laugh, and magnetic personality.
He leaves behind his mother: Donna L. Cook; his wife: Lisa (Emery) Pollock; daughter Arielle Pollock (22); her mother: Robin Kokeur; his son Reid Pollock (11); his sister, Donna Gleason; four brothers: Keith Pollock, Steven Pollock, Jeffrey Pollock, and Travis Ledford. He also leaves behind many adoring nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours are Sunday, June 28th, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA 01364. The funeral will follow at 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Pastor Victor Miller will officiate.
A celebration of Roberts life will conclude with a potluck get together at Mom's Country Kitchen, 317 East Main Street Orange, MA 01364.
