Robert J. Ruuska

GARDNER - Robert J. Ruuska, 58 of 518 Pleasant St., Gardner, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at home. He was born in Gardner, on August 7, 1949, the son of the late Aarne and the late Mary (Nalivaika) Ruuska. He was a Printer, employed by Adams Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing softball. He was a N.E. Patriots fan. He was a member of the PACC, past president and the AARP. He was devoted to his family. He leaves one daughter: Brandy Wood of Winchendon, and one son: Keith Ruuska of Gardner; three grandchildren: Arielle Wood, Dakota Wood and Brendan Zuppa all of Winchendon; three sisters: Patricia Ivory of Leominster, Mary Couture and husband James of Mt. Aerie, NC, Pamela Bourque and husband Paul of S. Windsor, CT; and two brothers: Henry Ruuska of Gardner, Paul Ruuska and wife Lise of Gardner and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 28, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to American Cancer Society's, New England Division Office, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to a Charity of one's choice.
