Robert A Sargent

GARDNER - Robert A Sargent, 91, of Gardner died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner. Robert was born April 23, 1926 in Gardner, the son of the late Clarence H. and the late Annie (McMahon) Sargent. He married Eva M. Landry on November 27, 1948. Robert served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was employed by S. Bents as an Inspector. He was a member of AARP & the Forever Young Club. He was also a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He is survived by his son, Robert D. Sargent and his wife Louise of Gardner; daughter, Maryann Ham and her husband John of Ashburnham; a sister, Barbara Williams of Gardner; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Robert was predeceased by his wife of 61 years , Eva M. (Landry) Sargent who died in 2010, a sister, Lillian Dill and three brothers, David, Ronald, & Donald Sargent. Calling hours will be held Monday July 10, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks Funeral Home 105 Central St. Gardner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 10 am in Holy Rosary Church 135 Nichols St. Gardner, MA. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Gardner.
