LEOMINSTER/MIDWAY, AR- Robert T. Boucher, 79, of Midway, AR, formerly of Leominster, died Sunday, April 18, in Midway, after an illness.
He was born November 22, 1935, in Fitchburg, son of the late William J. and Rosemary (Beauchemin) Boucher. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Boucher started his career working at various paper mills including, Mead Paper, Roland Paper, and Fitchburg Paper. Determined and hardworking, he worked his way through the ranks and attended the Peterson School of Engineering. He achieved his Second Class Engineer licensed and continued his career as a power plant operator and steam engineer. Mr. Boucher worked for California Institute of Technology, was the Chief Engineer at Bates Corrugated Box in Townsend, and retired from General Dynamics in California. He also ran Howard Creek Resort in Arkansas with his wife and son, Jim and their daughter in law, Barbara, for several years. He was a talented woodworker, and enjoyed fishing and wildlife. Most importantly, Mr. Boucher was a dedicated family man.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Lucille M. (Morissette) Boucher; three sons, James A. Boucher of Midway, AR, David A. Boucher and his wife, Norma Jean Haley Boucher of Apple Valley, CA, and Stephen W. Boucher of Midway, AR; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Jessica, Jaimee, and Kristopher Boucher, Chrystal Castanon, Joseph, John, and Jacqueline Alaimo; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Boucher of Greenville, NH; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Sheila Alaimo in 2004.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 24, at 11:00 A.M. in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery.
