Robert E. White,

ATHOL - Robert E. White, Jr., 60 of 323 South Street died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in the Farren Nursing Home, Millers Falls. He was born in Gardner on August 9, 1945, the son of the late Robert E. White, Sr. and Estelle (Noel) White. Robert grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Navy for over three years. He graduated in May of 1975 with an associates degree in Turf Management from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, a division of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. At one time he owned and operated the Iconoclast Boutique in Athol. Bob also was the golf course Superintendent at various prestigious resorts in northern New England. He was an avid sportsman and loved playing golf and tennis and watching the Red Sox. Bob also loved music and sang a cappella on various naval ships. He leaves one daughter, Sadye Jo (White) Zillo and her husband Jason of New York City, NY; his mother Estelle (Noel) White of Athol; three sisters; Carole W. Landry and her husband Alban of Winchester; Gail M. Blanchard of Gardner, and Jackie M. Paluilis of Athol; his previous wife Wanda Musacchio and her husband John of Heath, MA; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will be at a later date in Silver Lake Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol.
