In Loving Memory of Robert (Bob) F. Young: A Lifelong Legacy of Service, Passion, and Dedication
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) F. Young, a true pillar of the Ashburnham community. Bob departed from this world on September 11th, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the town he loved so dearly.
Born on June 14th, 1939, Bob's journey was marked by an unwavering devotion to the betterment of his community. He served as the head of the Ashburnham water department, ensuring that clean and reliable water flowed through the town's homes and businesses.
Bob's dedication extended beyond his professional responsibilities. He also held the esteemed position of Noble Grand for the Ashburnham Odd Fellows Lodge, embodying the principles of fellowship, charity, and compassion that defined his character.
A man of diverse interests and passions, Bob's enthusiasm for Fireman's musters and ice fishing brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He was also a lifetime member of the Hancock V.F.A. and the New England States Veterans Fireman’s League.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gail, whose memory remained close to his heart. He is survived by his children, Richard, Brenda, Ronald, and Rachel as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In honoring his life, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Hancock V.F.A, 15 Fred Smith Rd, Westminster MA 01473-6663.
