LEOMINSTER - Rocco L. "Hawk" Digregorio, 91 of 43 Carter St., Leominster, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 in the Health Alliance Leominster Campus, Leominster.
He was born in Fitchburg, on August 16, 1916, the son of the late Guiseppe and the late Rose (Siciliano) Digregorio.
He attended St. Bernard´s High School. He lived in Fitchburg before moving to Leominster many years ago.
Mr. Digregorio worked at the H. Margolin Company of Fitchburg for 48 years as a cutter, in the manufacturing of ladies hand bags, he retired in 1981.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater he was honorably discharged with the rank of Technician 4th Grade.
His wife of 62 years Rose (DelleChiaie) Digregorio died September 18, 2001.
He was a great sports fan of the Boston Red Sox, he also managed Little League Baseball winning two consective championship titles. He also managed Babe Ruth teams. He was a communicant of St. Anna´s Church. He was a member of the AARP and the Leominster Senior Citizens Association.
He leaves one son, Anthony "Tony" DelleChiaie of Worcester; two sisters, Palma Cornetta of Leominster, Mary Dantini of Leominster; one granddaughter and one grandson.
He was predeceased by his brother, Samuel Digregorio
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 10:00 am in St. Anna´s Church, 194 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the M.A. Simard & Son Funeral Home 14 Walker St., Leominster.
