June 1, 1927 — May 16, 2024

Hooksett, NH

It is with both sorrow and a profound sense of joy that we remember the life of Roger D. Chicoine, who passed on May 16, 2024

Roger was a 20 year Army Veteran serving as Military Police in World War 2 Germany.  He was signed in on" August 14, 1945, (" VJDay as a Lover.")

He served during the Korean War, and later was stationed in occupied Japan. He served the USA's missile defense for the east coast on missile sites for Maine to New Jersey.

In 2018, Roger was sponsored by a friend, Gary Gahan and chosen to be the Grand Marshall for the Manchester, New Hampshire Veteran's Day Parade. He was quoted as saying, "

Roger was a loving husband to his wife Brigitte (Kitty), and a great father to his oldest son Ralph and wife Diane; and his youngest son John, and wife Simone. He was a grandfather to Bree, Alexis, Noah and Gabriel. He was a great-grandfather to Ian, Ashley, Jayden and Rowan. He was a great-great grandfather to Rose, James and Asher

Roger leaves behind his sisters, Irene and Gloria, and their families, as well as his sister-in law, Heidi and her family.

Roger was a man of great faith who loved the Lord Jesus and would share the Good News when he could.  He, and his wife Kitty, had opportunities to do that while being part of the Senior Ministry Team for their local church, Higher Ground Ministries in Gardner, MA. The Team would visit local Nursing Homes bringing joy and laughter while ministering the Love of God to the residents.

For the past seven years, Roger lived with his eldest son Ralph and Ralph's wife Diane. They all fellowshipped at Goffstown Harvest Christian Church.  He was also part of their Senior Prayer Group and participated in their church home group.

Roger enjoyed bluegrass and country music; traveling, gardening and fishing. He also enjoyed family and friend gatherings, bible readings, going out to eat and after dinner movies.

He had a quick sense of humor and  brought joy and laughter to those who knew him, and to those he met.

There will be a private Gravesite Memorial with Military Honors which will be announce at a later date.
