Roland E. Guichard

GARDNER- Roland Eugene Guichard, 82, of Gardner, formerly of Fitchburg, died Monday, January 5, in the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born March 16, 1932, in Fitchburg, son of the late Albert and Anna (McKerron) Guichard. Mr. Guichard lived in Fitchburg until 1997 when he and his wife moved to Gardner. He worked many years for Fitchburg Gas & Electric as a meter reader before retiring in 1993. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Gardner and the Heritage Village Association. He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed bowling in his younger years, bingo, playing cards, and baking. His kindness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. His wife of 58 years, Mary Lorraine (Gaudet) Guichard, died June 5, 2013. He was also predeceased by his brother, Edward Guichard. He leaves two sons, Roland E. Guichard, Jr. and his wife, Irene of Merrimack, NH, and Brian E. Guichard and his wife, Argentina of Chelmsford; three daughters, Sharon M. Griffin and her husband, Ronald of Leominster, Laurie A. Arsenault and her husband, Gerard of Stow, and Linda J. Anderson and her husband, Mark of Ashburnham; eleven grandchildren, Timothy, Daniel, and Jeffrey Guichard, Thomas and Julie Griffin, Jay and Megan Mendonca, Kelley Perreira, Beth Crossman, and Mark and Kevin Anderson; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Albert “Buster” Guichard; three sisters, Dolores Pearson, Katie Beaulieu, and Mary Ann Guichard; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 14, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. with a prayer vigil at 5:45 P.M., in Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018. $(document).ready(function(){ });
