Romona "Mona" M Gordon

Athol-Romona M. “Mona” (Temple) Gordon, 88, died Saturday, October 22, 2022 after an illness. 

She was the wife of the late Glen Gordon. 

Mona leaves her five children, Victoria J. Chace of Athol, Terry Gordon Shepard and her husband Ed of Newberg, OR, Sandra E. Gordon and her partner, Maurice Rocheleau of Gardner, Duncan Gordon of Athol, she is predeceased a daughter-in-law, Jennifer A. Broughton; and Edwin D Gordon and his wife Tracey of Gardner; eleven grandchildren:  twenty-five great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria J. (Temple) Parker and her husband Robert L. of Athol and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is predeceased by a son, Glen Carlton Gordon  She was born in Athol on March 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Edwin C. and Vivian F. (Evarts) Temple. She attended local schools. She worked for Woodford Dimensions, and for Starrett Tool as a Machine Operator for many years and finished her work career as a greeter at Walmart. 

She was a member of the Athol Congregational Church for over 80 years. She enjoyed going to Foxwoods, playing bingo and all of the New England Sports teams. She also liked going fishing and deep sea fishing, going to the beach and spending time with her family. In her later years she became a bird and bear watcher. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. in the Athol Congregational Church,  1225 Chestnut Street, Athol. MA 01331.

Mona’s family asks that, In Lieu of Flowers, that you buy a scratch ticket and if you win thank Mona.
