GARDNER - Ronald J. Cormier, 80, of 85 Baker St., Gardner, MA, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Heywood Hospital.
He was born in Gardner on February 10, 1932, the son of the late George and the late Cyrienne (Malliet) Cormier.
He grew up in Gardner and attended Gardner Public Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force for four years, serving in the Korean War.
He worked for 32 years at Simplex Timer Recorder and most recently for Sawin L. H. Inc. in Gardner. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Gardner, a member of the Acadian Club, Deep Sea Club, Club 25 and the PACC. He enjoyed deepsea fishing and was a volunteer crosswalk guard.
He leaves hi wife of 52 years: Kathleen I. (Martioski) Cormier; three sons: Donald Cormier and his wife Tammy of Bernardston, Allan Cormier of Gardner, Roger Cormier and his wife Julie of Royalston; one daughter: Georgette Lambert and her husband Alan of Montague; on brother Emile Cormier of Gardner; one sister: Florence Cormier of Baldwinville; three grandchildren: Taylor Chapin, Katelyne Fernandez, Britney Lambert; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Ernest Comier and his twin Robert Cormier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner, MA. Burial will follow with full military honors in St. John’s Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Monday, August 20, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner, MA 01440.
