Ronald Lee Drewes, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Ron was born on March 13, 1945, in Craig, MO, to Edmund and Frieda (Stuenkel) Drewes.

Ron grew up on a farm in Northwest Missouri, near the Missouri River. He graduated from Craig High School in 1963. After high school, he went to Seward University and obtained a teaching degree. He taught in Denver, Colorado. As a true conservative, he was instrumental in starting Earth Day.

Ron fell in love with the New England area, and settled in Massachusetts, and stayed for the remainder of his life. Ron was an entrepreneur and had many businesses over the years. Ron was an avid beekeeper and loved nature. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and fishing. His home was a sanctuary for birds and butterflies. He and his brother, Kenneth had a homestead where they helped homeschool students, by teaching science with hands-on learning. Ron was a great cook and many have enjoyed his hospitality and fellowship.

Ron was funny and witty with a great sense of humor. Most of all Ron loved our Lord and Savior and had a gentle, loving, and compassionate spirit. His compassion for people led him to become a volunteer for patients on hospice services. He never hesitated to share his faith with others and has inspired many along his life's journey.

Ron is preceded by his parents, brothers, Robert and Kenneth, and brother-in-law Gary Anderson.

Ron is survived by his sister, Jane Anderson, sister-in-law, Rita Drewes, his nephews, Eddie Drewes and his wife Theresa, David Drewes and his wife Greta, and Kevin Anderson and his wife Lisa, nieces, Sheri Sharp and her husband Chris, Nancy Monroe and her husband Les, and Cindy Beeman and her husband Dan, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his good friends Robert and Laura MacCombie, their daughters, Melissa and Justine. " adopted" family Rachel and Malcolm Jones, and their sons Matthew and Luke, a good friend Allen Gorin and his daughters, Arielle and Anna, and many other friends.

Ronald's funeral will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, in the Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA 01364, Visitation will start a 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of life at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Dominic Maillet with be officating. Burial will follow in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, MA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ron's name to the local Salvation Army, 107 Rindge Ave, Athol MA 01331.
