ORANGE - Ronald Lewis, 79 of 519 E. River St, Orange, died Monday, January 21, 2008 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner after a short illness.
He was born in Greenfield, on September 12, 1928, the son of the late Arthur and the late Margaret (Taylor) Lewis Gray. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur who died in 1997.
He grew up in Athol and attended Athol schools.
He was a local Antique Dealer and Auctioneer for many years. He also worked as a salesman for Plotkin Furniture in Athol and the Bedroom Factory in Orange for many years.
Ronald loved going to Hawaii, especially the times his granddaughter Ginger went. He also loved going to Las Vegas with his daughter Debbie and his friends Clyde and Kathy Ball.
He leaves his wife of 53 years: Evelyn (DeeDee) C.(Adams) Lewis; one daughter: Debra Lewis and her boyfriend Charles Habbershaw of Orange; his granddaughter: Ginger Tetreault of Orange; three grandsons who called him "Ronny the Great": Todd Jr., Kobe and Riley Tetrault of Orange; a sister-in-law: Jane Adams and girlfriend Marie Hammonds of Orange, who brought him sweet treats which he looked forward to; two brother-in-laws: John Adams and wife Francine of FL and Henry Adams and girlfriend Gail Dorrow of FL.; several nieces and nephews and a very special friend Brandie Meuse who was there anytime she was needed and more.
Funeral services will be private. No calling hours are scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Heywood Hospital Geriatric Unit, 250 Green St., Gardner, MA 01440.
