Rosario C. Ricchiazzi

ATHOL - Rosario C. Ricchiazzi, 75 of 44 Templeton Road, Athol, MA, died Friday, November 21, 2008 in the Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol. He was born in Barre, on May 17, 1933, the son of the late Guiseppe R. and Maria R. Ricchiazzi. Mr. Ricchiazzi grew up in Barre. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. Rosario was the Meat Manager for Victory Supermarket in Athol for over twenty years. He was a member of the Athol V.F.W. and he loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching football and enjoyed horseracing. He leaves one son: Joseph J. Ricchiazzi and his wife Cindy of Athol; two grandchildren: Joseph Ricchiazzi and Ashleigh Ricchiazzi both of Athol; two sisters: Marion Matasevich, Rose Courville and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine T. (Waslaske) Ricchiazzi who died in 2002. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 11:00 am in Gethsemane Cemetery, Daniel Shays Highway, Athol. No calling hours are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
