ATHOL - Roy M. L'Heureux, age 68, of Athol died Friday, March 24, 2017 of complications to Agent Orange exposure. He died at Vibra Hospital Of Western Massachusetts with his family by his side. Roy was born March 19, 1949 in Gardner and is the son of the late Leo and the late Pauline (Doiron) L'Heureux.
He graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1967 and earned an associate degree in electronics from Springfield Technical Community College.
He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1972 serving in Bien Hoa, Vietnam from 1969 until 1970.
Roy worked as the Shipping/ Receiving Supervisor for Milton Bradley in East Longmeadow for many years and was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church.
He enjoyed ham radio and playing guitar.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Joanne M.(Brault) L'Heureux , three daughters: Lisa Saviski of Athol, Caryn Barone of Lunenburg, and Jennifer Colasurdo of Athol, and one son: Darien L'Heureux of Athol; two brothers: Jean L'Heureux of OR, and Leo L'Heureux of E. Templeton; He also has six grandchildren: Meagan Peterson and her husband Kent, Camdyn Torske all of Cheyenne WY, Y. Juliana Tin, Leann L’Heureux , Corrine Saviski and Aiden Saviski all of Athol, and two great grandchildren: Oryn and Mylo Peterson.
He is predeceased by his sister, Ida Wilks.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 4:00pm at Higgin's O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol. Burial will be private at a later date.
Calling hours will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00pm in the funeral home.
