Russell G. O'Brien, Sr., 69, of 228 Popple Camp Road, Petersham, died Friday, December 21, 2007 in the Radius Healthcare Center, Worcester, MA. He was born in Orange, on June 23, 1938. He was the son of the late Charles and the late Marion (Kidder) O'Brien. He was a Park Ranger for the State of Massachusetts, and also worked as a tour bus driver for Wilson Bus Line. He was a member of AARP and the Quabbin Showman's Club. He was a communicant of St. Peters Church in Petersham. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Mr. O'Brien leaves his beloved wife of over 47 years: Frances E. (Elliot) O'Brien; one daughter: Kathleen Wise of Worcester; four sons: Patrick J. O'Brien and his wife Susan, of Petersham, Russell O'Brien Jr., of Petersham, Thomas C. O'Brien and his wife Paige, of Richmond, KY, and Sean E. O'Brien of Greenfield; one sister: Shirley Bailey of Somersworth, NH; and one brother: Dennis O'Brien of Templeton. He also leaves ten grandchildren: Brandon, Brock, Sean, Katie, Bryson, Brylee, Joslyn, Colin, Stephanie, and Asa. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles O'Brien. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol. Burial will follow in East Street Cemetery, Petersham. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2007, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
