Ruth L. Abrozey

GARDNER - Ruth L. (Tappin) Abrozey, 91 of 125 Connors St., Gardner, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 in the Leo LaChance Nursing Home, Gardner, MA. She was born in Gardner, on July 23, 1917, the daughter of the late Robert W. and the late Catherine (Daley) Tappin. Mrs. Abrozey was a lifelong resident of Gardner. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1937. She attended the Salter Secretary School in Worcester and the LaSalle University in Chicago in 1938. Mrs. Abrozey worked as a business manager for Western Union for 34 years, retiring in 1972. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Gardner Historical Society. She leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers: Robert W. Tappin and Donald G. Tappin, and her three sisters Doris A. Tappin, Muriel Heagney and Beth King. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
