Ruth Elizabeth (Brown) St. Germain

ATHOL - Ruth Elizabeth (Brown) St. Germain, 92, of 391 Lennox Street, Athol, died on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at home.     Ruth was born in Plympton on April 8, 1919, the daughter of Kenneth Potter and Frances Aborn (Remington) Brown. She spent part of her childhood in Wyoming and Twin Falls, Idaho before moving to Massachusetts with her family as a young girl. She was a graduate of Cushing Academy in Ashburnham and resided in Gardner for twenty-five years.    Mrs. St. Germain worked as a telegraph operator at Heywood Wakefield in Gardner for many years and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a former member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Gardner. Ruth resided in Athol for the past several years. She enjoyed decorating and was an avid gardener.     She leaves her two sons, Mark N. St. Germain of Worcester, John H. St. Germain, Jr. of Westfield; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.     She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-five years, John H. St. Germain, on June 6, 2000; by her brothers, Hank Brown and Robert Brown; and by her sister, Hope Paradise.      Funeral services and burial in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, will be private.     In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086. $(document).ready(function(){ });
