Sally I. Moore passed away on October 15, 2022 at Alliance Health at Baldwinville. Sally, a proud Finnish American, was born in Gardner, Massachusetts on January 17, 1932 to the late Albin and Ida (Kauppinen)
Reinikainen as their youngest of thirteen children.
Sally graduated from Gardner High School where she remained a loyal member of the class of 1950 having served on many reunion committees over the years.
Sally married Thomas Moore in the West Street Lutheran Church on June 13, 1953. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this past June. Tom and Sally led a beautiful life together and in their retirement years, traveled extensively around the United States yet never missing an important event in their grandchildren's lives.
She was a member of the Chestnut Street United Methodist Church in Gardner. Sally worked in the office at the former Florence Stove Company and Thayer, Inc. She retired after many years of employment at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Welfare office as a financial aid worker in 1992.
She leaves her husband Thomas A. Moore of Gardner, her son Alan T. Moore and his wife Heidi of Essex Junction, Vermont. She also leaves 3 grandchildren, Korinne Berenson of Needham, Ma., Joshua Moore of Jericho, VT and Callie Amato of Williston, VT. Sally was blessed to have five great grandchildren Payton Moore, Eliza and Noah Berenson, and Stella and Gabby Amato. Also many nieces and nephews.
Sally was predeceased by eight sisters Vieno Kujanpaa, Saimia Zbikowski, Martha Zbikowski, Laine Stafford, Marion Reinikainen, Aino Marr, Lempi Allain and Toini Reinikainen. Four brothers Edward, Kerttu, Waino and Toivo Reinikainen.
Sally led a long and beautiful life and will be greatly missed by family and friends. She enjoyed all the good times and met the times of difficulty with a true sense of "sisu".
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
