ATHOL - Scott A. Collins, 49 of Chestnut St., Athol, died Thursday evening, April 10, 2014 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester, after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born in Natick, MA, on January 8, 1965, the son of William G. and Karen (Loomis) Collins. He grew up in Natick and graduated from Natick High School and Quinobin Regional Vocational Technical School in 1984 with a degree in Horticulture and Forestry.   He was a tree cutter and landscaper most of his life, working in the Metro-West area and Rhode Island for many years before moving to Athol.  The most important thing in Scott’s life was all his family, and his love of all animals, especially his precious Sasha and his beloved Shaggy.  He enjoyed nature and all its beauty.  He loved this area and enjoyed any outdoor work. He loved country music (especially his Girl!) and enjoyed going to many concerts.  He was a fanatical N.E. Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.  He loved to play cribbage and bingo, and was a terrific cook and baker.  He liked to go fishing and enjoyed visiting with his friends.  He loved all of nature’s magnificent scenery and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.  Scott loved life and was kind and good natured.  He will be missed by many people.   He is survived by his daughter:  Nicole L. Collins- MacLeod of Brimfiled, MA on whom the sun rose and set.  His mother:  Karen (Loomis-Collins) O’Brien of Athol, his sister, best friend and Irish Twin:  Kimberlee Collins of Roxboro, NC; his aunt Joan O’Connell of Natick, MA, his uncle John Loomis of Laguna Beach, CA; two nieces:  Ashlee Morin of Framingham, MA, Samantha Nielsen of Ashland and a nephew Jesse Cole of Roxboro, NC; two very special great nephews:  Orion Young and Taylor Hunter Evans; and many cousins.
