Shannon M. Comeau

ATHOL - Shannon M. Comeau, 30, of 229 Hapgood Street, Athol, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 9, 2010 in the Athol Memorial Hospital. She was born in Ware on September 21, 1979, the daughter of Donna M. (Hicks) (Comeau) Hachey and her husband Raymond of Athol and the late Francis R. Comeau. Shannon grew up in Athol and resided in Athol for most of her life. She attended Athol High School and earned her GED through Greenfield Community College. Shannon became certified as a preschool teacher several years ago and recently worked as a Personal Care Assistant. She loved her children very much and will be greatly missed. In addition to her mother, Shannon also leaves two daughters, Marrissa Lanoue and Haley McBride of Athol; two brothers, Jason Comeau of Athol, Daniel Comeau and his wife Kristen of Barre; one sister, Angela Hachey of Chicago, Illinois; her significant other, Jeffrey Castine of Athol; her godparents, George Comeau and his wife Jean of West Brookfield; an aunt, Cynthia Kershaw and her husband Harold of Westfield; two nephews, Tommy Newton of Florida, Jesse Newton of Ayer; one niece, Alycia Comeau of Barre; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
