Sister Clare Tardiff

November 15, 1929 — April 22, 2011

PETERSHAM - Sister Clare Tardiff, daughter of Leo J. Tardiff and Aurore (Tallion) Tardiff passed away on Good Friday at St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham, MA. She was 81 years of age and a native of Salem, MA. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Science at Emmanuel College in Boston. For more than 25 years she was a teacher in the Science Department of the community parish schools in Southbridge, Lowell, Petersham, MA and Laconia NH. Sister Clare became a missionary in Aormori and Urawa Japan in 1980 and continued her teaching mission there until 1996. Sister Clare is survived by one brother, Reginald Tardiff, his wife Cynthia and nieces and nephews as well as her beloved members of her religious community at the Sisters of the Assumption. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Sisters Of The Assumption, 211 N. Main St., Petersham. Burial will follow in East Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 - 7 pm at the Sisters of the Assumption Residence, 211 North Main St., Petersham, MA.
