Sonja L. Plummer

Sonja L. (Partridge) Plummer passed away at home on March 17, 2025 following a long illness. Sonja was born August 3rd, 1959 in Winchendon, MA, and will be remembered for her resilience, generosity, and intelligence. Sonja's life was a testament to the strength and beauty that can be found in every day, even in the face of adversity. Her unwavering spirit, coupled with her reliable nature, made her valued by everyone who knew her. For decades, Sonja dedicated herself to her community, first nurturing young minds as an Assistant Teacher in local Head Start classrooms, and later, demonstrating leadership and commitment as a Department Manager at Walmart, where she retired after nearly twenty years.

Sonja was not just a hard worker, but also a passionate lover of life. She found joy in the simple pleasures of reading and gardening, and she cherished moments spent in the tranquility of her Athol, Massachusetts home, where she resided after living much of her life in Tully. But what mattered most to Sonja were her beloved grandchildren. The love and joy they brought to her life were immeasurable. Her laughter, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed, but forever cherished by those who were fortunate to know her.

Sonja is survived by her loving husband Richard Plummer, Sr.; her son, Kevin Rivers; her daughter, Sharon Rivers; step-daughters, April Lake and Michelle Binkauski; step-sons, Richard Jr. and Robert Plummer; her brother, Fred Partridge; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Fern Partridge; her brother, Richard Partridge, Jr. and her sister, Robin John.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 9:30-11:00AM at Mack Family Funeral Homes, Athol - Orange Chapel, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA.

A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM at the same location with a burial to following at Tully Cemetery, Tully Rd., Orange, MA.
