Sophie E. Maselli

ATHOL - Sophie E. (Wolcott) Maselli, 95, of Athol, died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol. She was born in Holyoke on February 11, 1915, the daughter of the late Walter Pope and the late Anna (Reed) Wolcott. She was raised and educated in Vermont and moved to Athol in 1927. She worked at the former Athol Comb Shop many years ago and was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church. Mrs. Maselli was employed by the L. S. Starrett Tool Company in Athol for 26 years and worked in the Graduating Room. She retired as an Inspector several years ago. She leaves her daughter, Judith A. Tenney and her husband John of North Carolina; two sons, Michael R. Maselli, Sr. and his partner Ann Hastings of Orange, Robert A. Maselli and his partner Marie Hache of Athol; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, Dominick Maselli, in 1995; and by her brother, Henry Wolcott. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
