Sr. Beatrice Charland

PETERSHAM – The Sisters of the Assumption of Petersham, MA mourn the loss of their dear companion, Sister Beatrice Charland, formerly Sister Joseph-de-la-Presentation who passed away at Marie Esther Health Center in Marlboro, MA on January 21, 2012.  She was a native of Indian Orchard, MA and the daughter of Zacharie and Flora (Blier) Charland.   Sr. Beatrice spent 23 years as a teacher in Trois Rivieres, Quebec and later was assigned to elementary parish schools in Chicopee Falls, Southbridge, Everett and Northbridge, MA and Meriden, CT.   Sr. Beatrice is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as the members of her religious family, the Sisters of the Assumption.   Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 25 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Assumption Residence, 211 North Main Street, Petersham. A prayer service will be held during the visitation on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m. in Assumption Residence Chapel, Petersham. Interment will follow in the East Street Cemetery, Petersham.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of the Assumption Retirement Fund, 211 North Main Street, Petersham, MA 01366.  $(document).ready(function(){ });
